In the run up to the ACE Annual Reunion being held in Scotland in 2020, Creative Europe Desk UK - Scotland will be celebrating by presenting a series of screenings of films produced by ACE Producers alumni in Scottish cinemas, as well as practical case studies with producers behind the films.
The first in the series will be the award-winning drama, Monos, directed by Alejandro Landes. Opening in UK cinemas on 25 October, Creative Europe Desk UK will proudly present the preview of Monos at Glasgow Film Theatre on Sunday 20 October.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with European Co-Production award-winning Producer, Leontine Petit from Lemming Films (Monos, Zama, The Lobster).
There will also be a chance to hear Leontine present an insightful case study on Monos on Monday 21 October at CCA Glasgow, where she will discuss the benefits of international co-production, in particular the difference and benefits of minority co-production.
This is a great opportunity for Scottish filmmakers to learn directly and network with from producers behind some of the most anticipated films of the year.

Date: 20 October 2019, 4.45pm

On a faraway Colombian mountaintop, what at first glance looks like a hedonistic summer camp, is actually the setting of a mission: child soldiers with war names must make sure that Doctor, a kidnapped American woman, stays alive. But when a battle approaches and a borrowed milk cow is killed by accident, playtime is over.
Monos premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award and then went on to compete at Berlinale Panorama. Monos is also screening at the 63rd BFI London Film Festival. The film follows a rebel group of teenage commandos in a remote setting in Latin America.
