Cannes Film Festival is postponed this year due to COVID-19, but its annual Marché du Film - a vital opportunity for the international film industry to congregate and connect - will be taking place online.
The virtual Marché du Film programme is intended to recreate the market experience in Cannes, showcasing UK films and co-productions, providing key information about the UK and Scottish industry, highlighting new films, companies, facilities, services and locations, and providing a place for international film professionals to connect with Screen Scotland, the UK and international sector, via virtual booths, pavilions and curated speed meetings.
Screen Scotland will be present at this year’s virtual Marché du Film, running Monday 22 - Friday 26 June 2020. Promoting all that Scotland has to offer, our team will be taking part in panel discussions and virtual meetings with international producers, financiers, distributors and sales agents.
We have purchased 35 accreditation passes to offer to Scotland-based producers, so that they can participate in the online Marché du Film. Accreditation passes enable participants to attend online screenings, access the Producers Network programme, join speed meetings and take part in virtual Programs & Conferences.
Before requesting an accreditation pass, please note:
- This offer is open to Scotland-based producers only
- There is a limit of one pass per production company, unless a strong case is made for a second producer’s separate project slate
- You will be notified by 6pm on Tuesday 16 June if your application request has been successful
- Consider what projects you currently have and if they are at an appropriate stage for engaging with Marché participants, and who you would seek to connect with. If you do not currently have a project which is suitable for Marché engagement, please consider how participating would contribute to your professional development.
