BellRock

The BellRock programme offers an intensive series of residencies and mentoring support for six writers and filmmakers per year.

About BellRock

BellRock is an inspiring, practical programme giving filmmakers and screenwriters the opportunity to work with a team of established international mentors to develop original screenplays. The programme offers an intensive series of residencies and mentoring support for six writers and filmmakers per year and is delivered by Hospitalfield in partnership with Olivia Stewart, Three Rivers Film and Creative Scotland.

The aim of BellRock is:

  • to find original, diverse, voices and to provide a supportive, challenging but also tranquil working environment to develop original screenplays through working with a team of international industry professionals during a series of residencies, which include one-to-one sessions, group discussions and masterclasses;
  • to extend the sense of a support network of fellow participants, previous participants and mentors beyond the period of the residencies;
  • to build confidence with the opportunity to pitch projects to a international panel of industry professionals

Is BellRock for me?

BellRock is designed for emerging filmmakers, writer/directors, screenwriters and artists living in Scotland who can demonstrate their commitment, interest and talent and who are looking for guidance and support in writing a feature length screenplay. The programme includes residential workshops which include mentoring, masterclasses, screenings, discussions and full board catering.

The programme has run annually since 2016, with an open call for applicants.
