Synopsis

Based on the best-selling novel First and OnlyDark Sense is the debut film of director Magnus Wake and stars Shane O’Meara of Waterloo Road and James Robinson of Braveheart. The movie follows Simon (O’Meara) who desperately tries to stop the murderous killing spree of Mal (Robinson). He enlists the help of ex-SAS soldier Steve Brennus (played by Jim Sturgeon), and together they battle the killer and also the UK government who feel threatened by Simons unique abilities.

Dark Sense received its World Premiere in February 2019 at the Boston SciFi Film Festival, the US’s longest running genre film festival, earning an exceptional response from the audience, and picking up an award for best sound design. The UK Premiere of Dark Sense will take place at Celtic Media Festival on Wednesday 5 June 2019.

Filming took place in Edinburgh around the old town, Leith and Stockbridge in 2017. The film is produced by Encaptivate Films and First and Only Ltd. Sales are handled by 7 and 7 Producers Sales Service, and the film is distributed in North America by Breaking Glass Pictures.
