Scottish Funding Council

Enabling Scotland’s colleges and universities to provide life-changing opportunities for over half a million people.

The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) is helping make Scotland the best place in the world to educate, to research and to innovate. Investing around £1.8 billion of public money each year, SFC’s funding enables Scotland’s colleges and universities to provide life-changing opportunities for over half a million people.

The Scottish Funding Council is investing over £430,000 in a ground-breaking project designed to ensure that the Screen Unit benefits from the best possible support from Scotland’s colleges and universities. The Creative Media Network aims to better connect learner pathways across Further & Higher Education, as well as to host a series of high profile creative masterclasses both to upskill practitioners and provide students with an insight into careers at the cutting edge of screen.

We also fund the Scottish Drama Training Network, set up in 2009 to offer support and enhancement opportunities to Scotland’s colleges and higher education institutions who offer full-time courses that train people for a career in television, film, theatre or radio.
