Locations Website Guidance

Guidance for visitors to the Screen Scotland locations website.

We welcome all visitors to our Locations website, which launched in Spring 2019.

Locations Managers

For visitors who would like to access and receive additional Locations information, and/or images and create a folder of Locations of interest, please register to use this service. You will need to provide your name and email address and create a password. To find out how Creative Scotland will handle and use your personal information, please review the ‘Locations Scouts’ section of our Locations Website Privacy Notice.

Locations Owners

If you would like to register your property/site as a possible filming location, please follow the below steps:

  1. Review the ‘Locations Owner’ section of our Locations Website Privacy Notice – this will explain how Creative Scotland will handle and use your personal information
  2. Complete the online Location Owner’s Property Form and submit this with images of your property/site if possible
  3. The email address you provide and the password you create will enable you to log into your Location account to review, update or delete your information. If you do not have an email address, please leave this area blank and submit the form
  4. Following the submission of the online Location Owner’s Property Form, we will get in touch with you to discuss your property/site

If your property/site is an appropriate filming location, we will discuss and agree with you the images and information you would like to be published on the Locations website. You can choose how much information is visible and which images are immediately seen and what information and images will be shared at our discretion. Your published information will be accessible to visitors to the Locations website including Location Managers, Producers, Scouts.

We may arrange a site visit to take more images (we will discuss and agree a mutually convenient date and time during our initial contact with you).

Review of your account

Every three years, we will contact Location Managers and Location Owners by email to ask you to review your Location information and images to ensure these remain up to date.  If there are no changes to be made, please click on the respective link within the email you will have received to confirm that your Location information is up to date. If you need to update your account at any time, please login using your email address and password.

If you do not have an email address, we will contact you by phone to discuss your Location information and images to ensure these remain up to date. If you need to update your account at any time, please contact the Locations Team.
