GMAC Film is delighted to launch new short filmmaking opportunity Little Pictures. Little Pictures is open to everyone over 16 year of age from under-represented backgrounds who don’t normally have an opportunity to make a film and who have not been funded to make a film before. Little Pictures will commission six new short films from new filmmakers across Scotland and is committed to 50% of commissions by women.
Little Pictures will encourage new filmmakers to develop their voice and to take creative risks. Filmmakers will receive training, mentoring and support from GMAC Film to make their first film. The filmmakers will also be given futher training and information on commissioning and employment opportunities to help kickstart their careers in the Scottish film industry.
Little Pictures welcomes applications from the following under-represented groups:
- The top 20% areas according to the Scottish Index of Multiple Depravation
- Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic
- People with disabilities
- Care Experienced
- LGBTQI+
- Rurally Excluded
It is free to apply to Little Pictures, and applications are open from today Friday 11 September. Applicants can apply with a written application form or with 3 minute video or audio recording telling us about the film they would like to make.
The application deadline is 5pm on 8 October, 2020. Applications to, and participation in, the Little Pictures Project is FREE. Little Pictures is a micro budget short film project funded by Screen Scotland and run by GMAC Film.
