UK Government announce £1.57bn investment for culture, arts and heritage

Screen Scotland welcomes the UK Government's announcement of £1.57bn investment to protect UK cultural, arts and heritage institutions, including £97m for Scotland.

We will work closely with the Scottish Government to establish how this new funding will be accessed and will share more details as they become available.

On the announcement, Iain Munro, Chief Executive of Creative Scotland said:

“The negative impact of Covid-19 on the culture sector in Scotland has been hugely significant and recovery will be challenging. This new funding from the UK Government, following that announced last week by the Scottish Government, is extremely welcome news. We look forward to hearing more on the detail of how this funding will help sustain the future for Scotland’s culture and creativity which contribute so much to all our lives in terms of wellbeing and prosperity.”
