Channel 4 Daytime and Screen Scotland join forces to give boost to Scottish indies

Channel 4 and Screen Scotland have announced the independent production companies who are to benefit from their funding partnership designed to support the development of creative output from independent production companies based in Scotland.

Together Channel 4 and Screen Scotland pledged a £75k investment to fund up to five new developments and one new transmittable pilot from Scotland-based producers and suppliers.

The shortlisted independent production companies are Beezr, Firecracker Scotland, Hello Halo, and Mentorn Scotland.

The projects were selected following an open application process by Channel 4’s Head of Daytime and Head of Hub, Glasgow Jo Street and her team as part of their latest commissioning cycle.

Jo Street, Channel 4 Head of Daytime and Head of Hub, Glasgow said: “We have been delighted to team up with Screen Scotland to co-fund projects for Scottish indies and champion the fantastic talent in the nation.  Working with Screen Scotland has enabled us to develop new projects and we have been blown away by the response from the creative industries in Scotland. We are pleased to announce we now have four new projects in development.”
