TV Production Company delegation passes for Sheffield Doc/Fest

Sheffield Doc/Fest 2021 – opportunity for Scottish TV production companies to engage with theatrical documentary markets

The Sheffield Doc/Fest (5 - 13 June 2021) is the UK’s foremost documentary film festival, marketplace and industry conference. The Industry Programme is a major funding, sales and distribution platform of match made meetings, for collaborations and to unlock UK and international market opportunities, with participation from over 300 international funders, broadcasters, distributors and exhibitors.

Screen Scotland is offering the opportunity for up to five Scotland-based TV production companies to take part in the festival’s online industry programme. This delegation initiative is to support TV production companies with a track record in broadcast to broaden their work to further feature documentary production. It serves as an opportunity to learn more about the international feature documentary market, make connections with the industry and to progress projects companies may already be developing.

This opportunity is open to executives from TV production companies with at least two broadcast credits, with company plans and ambitions to expand their operation and understanding of feature documentary, and with viable feature documentary projects in consideration or active development.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • full virtual festival accreditation – this includes an individually tailored advance consultation with the festival industry team
  • a series of bespoke roundtable meetings – these will be with key industry representatives and decision-makers in a private virtual space, to make connections and develop understanding of the feature documentary space
  • festival prep session with the Scottish Documentary Institute
  • strategic support from the Screen Scotland team.

To apply, please complete the online form at the link below. Deadline for applications is 11:30am on Friday 30 April 2021. Successful applicants will be informed by 5pm on Tuesday 4 May 2021. If you have any queries, please contact [email protected].
