Sky, Double Nickel Entertainment, Blazing Griffin & CinemaLive partner on cross-platform release for Sky Original family film Grow, following London Premiere

Sky, Double Nickel Entertainment, Blazing Griffin, and CinemaLive have partnered on Grow, a new Sky Original family film launching this October through a hybrid release model. The film will debut on Sky Cinema from 10 October, followed by a nationwide theatrical rollout with CinemaLive from 25 October, reaching audiences during the UK half-term holiday season.

The film features a remarkable ensemble cast and was celebrated on 5 October with a star-studded London premiere at the May Fair Hotel, where Golda Rosheuvel, Nick Frost, Jeremy Swift, Priya-Rose Brookwell, Tim McInnerny, and Kathryn Drysdale joined filmmakers, industry partners, and guests to mark the occasion. The event kicked off a month-long rollout designed to maximise both home and theatrical audiences.

Directed by John McPhail, with a story by Nick Guthe and screenplay by Nick Guthe, Christos N Gage, and Ruth Fletcher GageGrow brings together an acclaimed creative team with a strong track record in family storytelling.

Shot on location in Scotland with a star-studded cast, Grow was produced by Double Nickel Entertainment alongside Blazing Griffin, with support from Screen Scotland, Orogen Entertainment, SC Films International, Foundry, Zertex Media, Pont Neuf Productions, and Grapevine Films.

Adam Richman and Jenette Kahn, Co-Founders of Double Nickel Entertainment, said: “Halloween movies have become synonymous with slasher and horror, but we saw a huge opportunity to offer families something different.”

Grow is a film everyone can enjoy together. The kids will laugh, parents will connect with its heart, and even grandparents will recognize themselves in its themes of tradition and belonging. It’s rare to find a movie that truly bridges generations, and we’re thrilled to bring that experience to audiences this autumn on Sky Cinema and in UK cinemas through CinemaLive, via this dynamic release model.”

Naysun Alae-Carew, MD and Executive Producer at Blazing Griffin, said: “Helping bring Grow to the screen has been a real joy. Positive, hopeful films for families are too rare, and we wanted to make something parents could feel good about sharing with their kids. Our hope is that Grow becomes the kind of film families look forward to watching together every autumn, year after year.”

The release strategy for Grow has been carefully timed to align with the UK’s autumn half-term and Halloween season, positioning the film to capture peak family audience demand across both home entertainment and event cinema platforms.

Grow will premiere on Sky Cinema from 10 October 2025 and in selected UK cinemas from 25 October via CinemaLive.
