Everyone at Creative Scotland and Screen Scotland congratulates Isabel Davis on her appointment as Director of National Lottery Filmmaking Funds at the BFI.
Isabel’s eight-year tenure as Executive Director of Screen Scotland has seen the creation and implementation of a ten-year strategy for Scotland's Screen sector. In that time, the sector has grown to be worth more than £700m each year to the Scottish economy, well on the way to the strategy’s target of £1bn by 2031.

Other highlights of Isabel's time at Screen Scotland include overseeing the development and introduction of a Screen Curriculum for Scotland, the first of its kind anywhere in the world, taking Screen education into schools across the country; the growth of Scotland's studio infrastructure, including First Stage Studios in Leith, home of productions like Dept. Q and The Rig; and significant growth in major international producers choosing Scotland as a place to make film and TV, creating jobs across the industry and a lasting positive impact for the industry.
We thank Isabel for everything she has done in support of Scotland's screen sector and the impact she has had on public life more broadly and wish her all the very best in her new role at the BFI.
