rad is a 10-month training course to learn the skills needed to help you become a professional television researcher.

Ever thought about working in TV?

TV Researchers can be involved in all these tasks and more, working across a wide range of programmes. It’s an incredibly varied role requiring curiosity, dedication and above all, a love of TV.

About TV Research

TRC Media are seeking people who are not working in TV, but who love television, are inquisitive, hardworking and enjoy being part of a team… If this sounds like you then why not consider becoming a television researcher?

  • Are you hard-working and persistent?
  • Do you wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes putting a TV programme together?
  • Do you have a positive attitude and enjoy being part of a team?
  • Does research, fact-finding, cold-calling (picking up the phone to people you don’t know!), working with people from all types of backgrounds excite you?

Applying for rad

rad is a 10-month training course where you will be paid to work full time with a Scottish TV production company and will be supported to learn the skills needed to help you become a professional television researcher.

Is this for me?

The TV industry is changing and we are looking to be more diverse in our recruitment, this is why rad is targeted at people from disadvantaged backgrounds, those who have disabilities, or people from black, Asian and ethnic minority communities.

rad is aimed at people who have a bunch of skills and experience from other walks of life. You might be re-entering the workforce after time off? Maybe you’ve had a period of redundancy? You could be working in other sectors like: customer service, science, childcare, retail, teaching, healthcare, marketing, construction – the possibilities are endless.

Also, you must be over 18 and not in full time education.
