Screen Scotland is offering support for up to 10 screen sector senior executives to attend the British Screen Forum Conference 2024 in London, followed by specially organised roundtables for the Scottish delegation.
About the British Screen Forum Conference
The British Screen Forum is a members-only organisation which regularly convenes the best informed and most influential people in the UK screen sectors to interrogate issues of importance, and influence policy and the thinking around policy. It invites key players to debate the implications of the evolving screen landscape, and the policy and regulatory environment, and provide unrivalled insight into emerging themes and innovative technologies.
The annual British Screen Forum Conference has been established over many years as a major event in the screen sector calendar and is attended by around 200 specially invited senior industry executives, plus national and trade press. This year the Conference is on 20 November and will take place at RIBA (The Royal Institute of British Architects), Portland Place, London. The agenda at this event ranges widely across the many issues of relevance to screen sector businesses and this year will run under the tag line ‘Paradigm Shift?’, with speakers offering policy, business and creative perspectives.
What is on offer?
Screen Scotland in partnership with the British Screen Forum are providing the following for key company executives:

-

Who is eligible to apply?
Applications are welcome from key leaders and senior executives of Scotland-based production companies and studios, who engage with matters of policy and regulation that impact the screen sector. Only one submission per company will be considered.
What information do we need?
Submissions will comprise of an overview of your company and its recent broadcast/theatrical credits. You must also provide a strategic rationale for support, indicating how you and your company plan to engage more with the policy framework of the screen sector, and what you’d seek to achieve while in London.
If supported, it is expected that you will attend both the daylong BSF Conference on Wednesday 20 November, and the morning roundtables on Thursday 21 November. The latter will take approx. 2 hours in total, as we recognise the importance of also allowing you time to take other key meetings while in London, or following up on opportunities from the Wednesday event.
What happens next and how will my submission be assessed?
Once we receive your submission, we will check for basic completeness and eligibility. Your submission will be assessed on your company’s profile and track record, your reasons for attending the Conference, including desired outcomes, and an understanding of the benefits to your company and the Scottish sector.
If you are successful, we will confirm your details for event registration with the BSF team, and advise of next steps for travel and accommodation support.
